| Tablet PC Wacom Cross Pen I've just purchased the capless cross pen. I want to know if anyone else has bought one of these for their Tablet PC, and I would like to know what they think of theirs, before it ships to me. Just so I have an understanding of how it feels. Is it heavy, or light? Does it feel comfortable, or like cheap plastic? How does it look, nice and profesional, or something a bum would have? Of course, im looking for more depth of these questions, but thats just an idea. If it's heavier, does it feel like you get better precision? Does the wacom board have better recognition of the cross pen than the oem pen? for example on edge of screen? How do you recomend storing it? -James |

Just so I have an > understanding of how it feels. --> I have one with a cap, however I use it without the cap attached so I have the eraser (nice) available. > Is it heavy, or light? --> Compared to what? Actually, neither, balanced and just right. 8-) > Does it feel comfortable, or like cheap plastic? --> Comfortable, just like regular Cross pens. > How does it look, nice and profesional, or something a bum would have? --> Professional. > Of course, im looking for more depth of these questions, but thats just an > idea. --> Really? 8-) > If it's heavier, does it feel like you get better precision? --> Weight comparisons would depend on what pen you're currently using. They vary from brand-to-brand, including one which is triangular. I seriously doubt the pen itself adds to precision, though perhaps the "feel" might give a person a perception of more accuracy. > Does the wacom board have better recognition of the cross pen than the oem > pen? for example on edge of screen? --> Nope, same digitizer behind the screen, same results. > How do you recomend storing it? --> At least you won't have a cap to lose. I make sure either I've attached the cap to a shirt or pants pocket before I use the pen, that way the odds are I won't lose it. Storing? You don't store it, since it is too large to keep within the Tablet's provided area. Depends, I suppose on your own habits with a pen, your normal usage location and if you've got a slate or convertible model Tablet. -- http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/e...ts/nichol.mspx In memory of a true friend, Windows MVP Alex Nichol Chris H. | Re: Tablet PC Wacom Cross Pen I just got one (with cap) today because I lost mine that came with my Acer 300. Acer wants more for the replacement than the cross, so I figured why not get the cross. So far I like it better than the original pen. I used it with and without the cap and it works fine both way. Very comfortable and easier to write with than OEM pen. I appreciate the slim OEM pen in that it can be stored with the tablet, but just like with my PDA, I prefer to use an aftermarket pen / stylus so that the original one is always in place and doesn't get loose and lost. The cross pen is as professional looking as any other quality pen. Quote:

I plan to get a second one to keep in my bag, so that the other can stay in my work space. Hope this helps! |
