| Any cheap rentals for Tablet PCs??? I am looking to test drive a Tablet PC for a couple weeks, but the few online vendors that offer Tablet rentals start at $275/week rental rates. That is a little steep for me. Anyone know a Tablet rental vendor for something like $50/week? |

| RE: Any cheap rentals for Tablet PCs??? It's not cost effective to rent for $50 a week. unless you rent it to a company that'll pay $50 * 20 machines and you know they'll have it for 4 months... but one person it's not cost effective. $50 * 20 * 16 = 16,000 But even thats stupid for the company, why not just buy the **** things, then sell them if they didn't fit your need. Renting a computer is just dumb. If you're serious about a tablet, just buy one, if you have the money. I recommend a convertable, but slates are cool. If you buy a slate, make sure you get the stand. -James "TJM" wrote: > I am looking to test drive a Tablet PC for a couple weeks, but the few online > vendors that offer Tablet rentals start at $275/week rental rates. I'm not interested in the business model of a PC rental company.....I just want to test drive a Tablet PC before I buy one to see if its worth the substantial cost. Do you just walk into a car dealership and buy a car without inspecting it up close and taking it for a test drive? |

| Re: Any cheap rentals for Tablet PCs??? > You can try an M1400 here: http://www.alltp.com/mobile.htm Thanks for that link....I may give them a try. I think Amazon & Buy.com offer 30-day money-back guarantees on their products, with no restock fees. That way I can test drive a Tablet for 30 days instead of just 2 like the ATP offer.....2 days doesnt give me much time to explore all the features. |

Check this site for breakdown: http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article...,112588,00.asp But I would also double check with the store to ensure that there will be no restocking fee. -- Alex Yu http://mucha.us/blogs/alex/ This posting represents my own opinion, and in no way claims to represent the views of Microsoft Corporation. | Re: Any cheap rentals for Tablet PCs??? My mother had an M275 for weeks and sent it back. She loved it (which is why it was weeks instead of days), but eventually she had to concede that it was too big for her. -- TCPW The Miniature Mage "flibbertigibbet007" <flibbertigibbet007@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:93D2EBE3-BB19-4F82-AA82-DB7DBB7E475D@microsoft.com... > Oh, screw gateway.
