Memory Upgrade: which brand?

I currently have two 256MB memory sticks in my Toshiba Portege M200
tablet PC. I would like to replace one of them with a 1GB stick.

I am trying to decide between the $177 KINGMAX 200-Pin 1GB DDR SODIMM
PC-2700, Model MSAD42D-KI

http://tinyurl.com/4entk

and the $330 Crucial Part Number: CT353124 1G DDR PC2700.

http://tinyurl.com/436sa

Is it worth giving twice the money for the Crucial?

Thanks,
Teffy

RE: Memory Upgrade: which brand?

I think I tried kingmax for a toshiba I had a long time ago, and it didn't
work. Had to return it. Crucial has always been my choice. But try the
kingmax, if it doesnt do what you like, send it back, make sure they have a
refund policy first.

Re: Memory Upgrade: which brand?

My choice was I first got my M200 was going with Crucial (I haven't had a
bad deal from them yet over many years). However, my M200 came with a 512
MB module, so I just added another 512. I just checked this morning after
seeing your post, and note the price is now under $100.

I would suggest, rather than paying 3.5 times as much, to simply get a 512
module now, and run with one of the 256 sticks for a 768 total, or if your
goal is a gig total order two 512's for under $200 instead of the full-boat
$350.19 this morning.
