| Re: Importing File into Windows Journal Most of the time, the way to "Import" into Windows Journal is to have the file already open in its native environment and then use "Journal Note Writer" to "print" the file, or simply use Copy/Paste. Take a look in Windows Journal Help for "importing information from other programs." -- Chris H. | Re: Importing File into Windows Journal Hi there, thanks for your reply. However, I would still like to find out what could be the possible cause of the malfunctioning because out of several tablet pcs of same initial setting in our office, only some of them have this problem. So it appears to indicate there must be some problem with the setting. Theoritically if I use the import funtion of the windows jounrnal(under the file) to open a word document, it should be quite an easy task to handle (and it is for a lot of us.) | Re: Importing File into Windows Journal Are the Tablet PCs running Windows XP SP2 and the Tablet PC Edition 2005, or the earlier version. What my experience has been is in Windows Journal if I do File/Import for a Word 2003 document, I will get an Import notice which says, "Windows Journal will now open the default program that handles this file and print a document image of the file into Windows Journal. Tap Next to continue . . . As far as I know, that is the proper reaction when you use the Import function, and browse to the file name (perhaps in My Documents). If you're already in Word, then you could "print" to the Windows Journal printer or Copy/Paste into Windows Journal. Perhaps you could try following this Knowledge Base article, and see if repairing the Journal Printer would help: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;824385 -- Chris H. The import feature is simply automating the other application to print, basically via command-line exec. It may be that the registered print verb for that app differs in some way. If you don't want to look through that, then (as Chris says)simply use the application Print command to shortcut the process. |
