| XP Support for Dual Active Displays? Hi. Does Windows XP Tablet Edition support dual active digitizers? In other words, could I hook up an external active digitizer display (e.g. Wacom Cintiq) to my TC1100 and have one app, say Journal, active on one display and Word on the other, using the pen as input on both? If yes, has anyone tried this, and what external displays have they used? Sorry if this has been asked before. Thanks for your thoughts. -- MoS |

| Re: XP Support for Dual Active Displays? Interesting thought, but you can already expand your real estate with an external monitor from your Tablet PC. Personally, I haven't seen the Cintiq, but Wacom lists a telephone number (1.800.922.9348) where you could ask. -- Chris H. | Re: XP Support for Dual Active Displays? Thanks for the swift response. I'll give Wacom a call. But one follow up question; In the external monitor scenario, what if you're only using the pen as the pointing/input device? How then do you interact with the app (e.g. input data, make a selection, draw, etc.) that's displayed on the external monitor? | Re: XP Support for Dual Active Displays? Yes and no. 8-) You can use the Extended Desktop PowerToy (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d.../tabletpc.mspx) which creates a small window of what is displayed on the external monitor, thus manipulating items with the pen. Remember, without the digitizer, the second monitor will never react to a pen near its surface. 8-) Otherwise, the normal mouse/keyboard is necessary. Another pretty neat method doesn't require a regular connection with an external monitor, but your LAN instead: MaxiVista (http://www.maxivista.com/) allows you to use several external monitors without physical connections. -- Chris H.
