Hi.

I have an Acer TravelMate C300 and i have a weird problem. When i
start the system the regular startup screen (the splash thing) is not
visible. Instead i just can see a blinking cursor on the top left of
the screen.

The problem is, that i can not use scandisk because i just can't see
it. I definatly starts and it runs because the HD makes some noise and
the LED shows activity.

Does anybody know how to configure the notebook so that i can use
scandisk with it?

Can you boot to Safe Mode, using F8 prior to that screen launching?
Scandisk is an old term from the Win9x days, BTW, and is not supported on
Windows XP. The command is "chkdsk" but there is no "DOS" to boot into a
command prompt at launch with XP.
