Re: gaming on tablat pc

You might get more responses if you explain which capabilities this game
needs.

For those who want to program games there is a terrific object oriented game
programming environment that works well on Tablet PCs: it is shareware at
http://www.gamemaker.nl/. I've seen kids as young as 5 learn object
oriented programming using this environment, and it is well-pitched to
adults as well.

I am not familiar with the game in question, but Windows Tablet edition
is a superset of Windows XP Pro, so if the game runs on XP Pro and the
tablet specs are above the minimum required specs, it will run fine.

Re: gaming on tablat pc

Byron, gaming on a Tablet PC depends on the system requirements of the game
itself. Since the Tablet PCs all run Windows XP Pro as the operating
system, you're okay there. The issue is whether or not the particular
Tablet will support the game (and it varies) in the graphics department.
You would need to check out the game requirements and match those against
the particular Tablet PC.

Tablet PC MVP Terri Stratton has some great comparison charts on all the
available models on her web site, so you can compare the graphics
capabilities: http://thetabletpc.net .

Re: gaming on tablat pc

It totally depends on the hardware. From a software point of view, you can
run anything on a tablet that you can run on a desktop. The issue of course
in a game is lag and general slowness.

I have had 3 tablets now, and had access to 4. Of them , the only one I have
had that can play games is the current one - a Toshiba M200. It's got a
GeForce FX graphics card, a 1.8Ghz Pentium-M processor (that feels like a
2.6Ghz Pentium 4), 1 gig of Ram and a nice screen res. I currently play Half
Life 2, Eve Online and City of Heroes just fine on this machine.

The big sticking points for games in terms of any PC's hardware are memory
(always get more - that's a rule - no matter what you have, get more), disk
speed (5400 rpm is ok for most games, 7200 is better but drains batteries),
graphics card (make sure it's a GeForce or ATI Radeon based card) and
processor (Pentium-M, never ever a celeron)

Hope that helps
