| same question as before, some better explanation? I brought this question already: I work with a lot of abbreviations in my writing. In MSWord there is the possiblility to input an abbreviation that will autimatically expanded in the un-abbriated word: "abbr" > "abbreviation", "EL" > "Eddy Loonstijn" Is there a possibility to install an "abbriviation and expand"-option in Input Panel for the Tablet PC? Or, if not, do you know a utilityprogram that does this job for me? Chris H. (winxpnews********.com) reacted: Eddy, you could use the Dictionary Tool for Tablet PC: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d.../tabletpc.mspx You can customize your dictionary, adding your own words or import them from a text file or the Microsoft Office dictionary. Now, I did do this already, but that will not solve my problem, because there will not be an automatic expanding of the recognized abbreviation! Somehow the computer must know what to fill into the text instead of the found and read abbreviation: the computer did not receive from me a list from which he can know which un-abbreviated words he must use. So my question stays the same: Is there a possibility to install an "abbriviation and expand"-option in Input Panel for the Tablet PC? Or, if not, do you know a utilityprogram that does this job for me? Curious for an answer! Eddy |

You basically program it to recognize something, and it outputs what that is supposed to equal. I'm not sure if it can do multiple characters but it has a free trial so you could see if it solves your problem some way without having to fork out the cash. -- John D [MVP] |
