Hi All

First off sorry if this is a dumb question.

I just order a Fujistu tablet and have a question with the operating system.
Is windows operating system like Windows XP Home or Pro? Why I am asking is
at my school I need windows xp to logon on to our network?

Hope someone can answer my question.

It's Windows XP Pro with extensions for the Tablet hardware etc. The
latest update is a superset of Windows XP Pro SP2.

XP Home or Pro is the current version of the Windows Operating system

If you want to properly 'join' a network at your school you will need XP
Pro

And I should have added that the Tablet edition of XP which will come
with the Fujitsu is XP Pro *plus* the tablet specific software. You
will not need anything else

Tablet PCs can do just about anything a desktop can do, but a desktop cannot
sit in your lap. 8-)

What are you guys talking about? of COURSE a desktop can sit in
your lap. The small form factors we have all over my work place
make me So sad, when I remember dragging my mid-sized tower and
15-inch CRT monitor (and keyboard, speakers and mouse) to LAN
parties. If I had one of the new machines, I could just tuck
the entire assembly under my arm and go, and we're talking a
17-inch flatpanel monitor here.

Alright, so you wouldn't really want one in your lap, but I but
one of those setups would weigh less than one of the first
laptops...

I'm just glad I can play Dawn of War on my TPC; I don't have to
haul a desktop to the LAN parties :)
