| foreign language & tablet pc note-taking software I am a college student who is highly interested in learning languages. At this current time, I am studying French and Chinese. I would like to know if there is plug-ins or support available for using some of the note-taking functions (such as written French word into text or a drawn Chinese character into typed character). Does anybody know? If you have an answer or solution to this, please email me at melgirk******.com Thanks, Melissa |

| Re: foreign language & tablet pc note-taking software Perhaps the Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 Recognizer Pack will assist you: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en It includes: Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), U.S. English, U.K. English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. If you haven't already, I would suggest upgrading to Windows XP Service Pack 2 and the Tablet PC Edition 2005 (included together) before installing the recognizer pack. -- Chris H. This will help, but please note that the Chinese (and Japanese?) recognizers do not allow recognition of free-text i.e. that just written into a document surface like Journal. You have to work with the TIP in those cases. |
