| Vista - Screen Orientation Button. Using Vista Ultimate on a Toshiba R15-S822. The screen rotation button no longer appears to rotate the screen. The screen also fails to autorotate when I switch from keyboard to tablet orientation. When I check in control panel, the diagram indicates that the screen rotation is actually the <esc> button, and can have key combos assigned to it. There appears to be no way to assign the button to rotate the screen orientation. My questions are: 1) Is there a new updated driver that will restore the screen rotation functionality? 2) If not, is there a hotkey combo I can assign to the button to restore this functionality? 3) Why does the tablet no longer switch orentation when I rotate the screen? |

| Re: Vista - Screen Orientation Button. You need to check Toshiba's web site. That's where the newer utilities will come from for Vista operation, IF Toshiba is supporting Vista on your model. | Re: Vista - Screen Orientation Button. I don't have that model Fujitsu tablet PC but I did have the same problem in Vista. I had to download the ACPI driver, the Fujitsu Button Driver, and the Button Utility (all Vista versions) and install them all. Once I did that and rebooted, I go full control back. Also, my tablet PC is based on the Intel 915 chipset, so I went to Intel, downloaded the Vista drivers, and now, have hotekey combinations for rotating the screen. These came with the Intel drivers. | Re: Vista - Screen Orientation Button. It seems Toshiba put our R15-82x model to pasture. I have been running Vista Business for three weeks and the only problem is the aforementioned lack of rotation. So I am currently manually using the "Windows Mobility Center" in the Control Panel to manually rotate my screen. It is a PITA, but the only work around I know of for now. Stay tuned to this group. It has tips that you may be able use on your Tablet, even if it is not the model mentioned. I learned about the Mobility Center here. I was going back to Tablet XP this morning (not looking forward to that reinstall <g>) until I just read about it on this group. Not yet...I'm trying to conquer Vista and Office 2007 first on my desktop...but I am curious, which is why I stopped by..my laptop of the last 3yrs can run XP Pro, but not hardware ready for Vista..thus need to think ahead come summer time. This one was a relatively new fujitsu st5111 she liked it better than the hp tc4000(?..can't recall exact number) which was more difficult to haul and use in the Phoenix sun. I didn't get to use the tablet beyond a few minutes, but I had a blast....also spent an hour in a flight simulator(took 4 days to for my visitor security clearance) with very repeatable crash worthy results.
