| Log-In Issue, please help! I have the Averatec C3500 with the Tablet PC edition, and have continuously experienced this problem. When I start up the computer, the screen will get up to the 'Windows is starting up' message, and sit there for over 10 minutes. Finally, a message will pop up that says that the system is not able to log me in, to which I can click on 'OK' and that brings me to the welcome screen. I am the only account listed, as the guest account is off. I am the computer administrator, and no password is set for log-in. The weirder part is that when I set a screensaver to go off after 1 minute, as soon as I showed activity with the mouse, the message popped up as soon as the screensaver turned off. Please help! |

| Re: Log-In Issue, please help! I'd suggest two things: (1) Use F8 to enter the Safe Mode Menu prior to seeing the boot screen, then select Last Known Good Configuration and see if you can boot; and (2) If you get into the system, immediately create a new user account and stop using only the Admin account. -- Chris H. | Re: Log-In Issue, please help! I checked the company website, and a download was offered for a "login fix," and that solved the problem. Thanks for your help, though! If anyone experiences the same problem, go to the website listed below... http://www.averatec.com/customercare/3500dl.htm "Chris H." wrote: > I'd suggest two things: (1) Use F8 to enter the Safe Mode Menu prior to > seeing the boot screen, then select Last Known Good Configuration and see if > you can boot; and (2) If you get into the system, immediately create a new > user account and stop using only the Admin account. > -- > Chris H. > Microsoft Windows MVP/Tablet PC > Tablet Creations - http://nicecreations.us/ > Associate Expert > Expert Zone - www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone > > > "AnitraS" <AnitraS@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:5B743F13-586F-4F38-89CD-995F76FCE7CC@microsoft.com... > >I have the Averatec C3500 with the Tablet PC edition, and have continuously > > experienced this problem. | Re: Log-In Issue, please help! Good, and thanks for posting back. If you're already running Windows XP SP2 and the Tablet PC Edition 2005, make sure you download and install the eight driver updates listed on their web site. They're all issued since SP2 came out. -- Chris H.
