| Re: Input Panel Thanks for the suggestions guys.... The event id is 7023. following the link that Jan gave, I've found the dll and sys files and moved them as suggested - the Human Interface Device service now starts. I've also tried lanching and closing the "getting going" tutorial and guess what....none of these things have made any difference!! TIP refuses to come up....aaaaargh!! | Re: Input Panel Now here's an interesting thing... I usually use an account on this machine that has Administrator privileges. I just logged on through the proper "Administrator" account. This hadn't been used before so it went through the usual "welcome to XP' stuff. What's interesting is that I brought up a Windows Explorer while using the pen - and the floating Input Panel icon appeared! It took me a while to get it to stay long enough to click on but I was eventually able to bring it up, look at options etc. When I saved the options it crashed and I got an error written to the event log saying that tabtip.exe had failed in module tipskins.dll. The version numbers of both are 1.7.2600.2180. Since then, I've rebooted and logged back into the Administrator account, created a new user and logged on through my normal account - all to no avail, the Input Panel still won't appear....sooooooo tantalisingly close!!!
