| Acer Travelmate C300 I bought my laptop Acer C300 2 weeks ago and started recently to experience some strange behaviours. All works quite well when I work on the battery but as soon as I use the AC electrical network, my pointer is attracted on the lower-right part of the screen, vibrates around this position, and opens the clock or other applications of my toolbar by its own. This is really annoying meaning that I have no control on my pointer anymore. Have you any idea what the problem could be? Could it comes from interferences in between the power supply and my screen? Thanks for any help given. |

| Re: Acer Travelmate C300 There were some earlier problems on some Tablet PCs apparently relating to the speaker location and the keyboard, Stéphane. Does this happen in all screen orientations, but in the same physical location? If so, I would contact the support section for Acer immediately and see if they have a solution for you. -- Chris H. Lower screen edge locations. It was hard to pin down the cause, but it seems to get worse with increasing temperature, at least on my c302 (LXT280E138 partnr series). In tablet mode, if you find the problem is less apparent or even absent with the c300 just newly booted from cold / room temperature, and gets worse the longer the tablet is on (in tablet mode) and the more the screen frame (logo, buttons) warms up, then it's definitely an issue with the wacom digitizer and Acer should repair this under warranty. You can also try out the new driver http://www.wacom.com/tabletpc/driver.cfm and then calibrate again, this could help too. cheers, - Jan |

| Re: Acer Travelmate C300 This is a known behavior problem with Acers and is usually one of two things. 1) Some Acers shipped with the wrong power supply. If you call Acer support and have your power supply ready so you can read them the serial number they can tell you if yours is one of the defective ores. If so, it should be replaced immediately as it can damage your machine. 2) There is an update for wise back light which automatically dims the screen when you go onto betty power . To see if it is the problem, turn off wise back light from Start Menu -> All Programs -> Acer -> Note book manager. Tap Boot Options and uncheck Enable Auto Dim. Restart the computer. If the problem goes away you can just leave it off (I do, preferring To control the screen manually) or you can download an updated version of Wise backlight from the Acer website. -Jeff "Stéphane" <stephane@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:201601c4fd65$716cb390$a401280a@phx.gbl... >I bought my laptop Acer C300 2 weeks ago and started > recently to experience some strange behaviours. | Wise backlight driver? Quote:
I have searched for the Wise Backlight driver, but didn't succeed. Can you help me (us) out? Unfortunately I experience the same pointer issue. I thought it was a driver at first, but I've been troubleshooting since I took it 15 feb out of the box by toggle drivers, without a sencible analysis. I hope that I can find some help here.
