Pen Function/Recognition Lost

I got my Fujitsu T4010 in December. I updated to SP2 (so it's now Windows XP
Tablet PC Edition 2005; Version 2002, Service Pack 2). Everything has been
working fine. But I got some spyware infection (about:blank) which i used
Adware Away (antispyware program) to remove successfully. Then later I
installed a full version of an antivirus program (I had been using the trial
version prior, for virus protection), and then I installed Office XP
standard, and everything was working fine (I mean the pen was working all the
time). I wanted to burn some CD so I opened the Nero on my computer. It
alerted me for some 4 updates so I downloaded and installed them. But after I
installed the last one (Nero Media player or something like that), it asked
to reboot and after reboot I realized the pen function was/is lost, the
cursor, TIP and everything else would not recognize the pen when I move it on
or close to the surface of the screen. I noticed though that when my tablet
is booting there is a short hanging period where the cursor does seem to
respond to the pen. Then after it completes the booting the pen recognition
is lost. What is the problem and what should I do? I did uninstall the last
update of Nero (nero Meida Player) but the problem is still there. All these
happened less than 24hrs ago.
HELP PLEASE! Thank you.

Re: Pen Function/Recognition Lost

I'd use a Restore Point from System Restore to revert prior to installing
Nero entirely. Install only what you need from that program. Do you need
the Nero Media player, or does Windows Media Player do the same thing?

Re: Pen Function/Recognition Lost

Thanks Chris,
Before your response came I did a system restore to the point prior to
installing office XP because there was no restore point for the Nero update I
did. After the system restore everything is now working. I also note that I
did the Nero update after the office XP installation, so what i will do now
is to reinstall the office XP and see. There will be no Nero update.
Thanks again!

Re: Pen Function/Recognition Lost

Good luck with it! Remember, too, with Office XP, there is a Tablet PC to
allow Ink functions. It is available for free download here:
