The Motions are not ruggedized models, Ed. I wouldn't even try dropping
one, for fear of ruining the unit.

Dropped mine in the parking lot one day. While it's not a ruggedized model
and I *don't* recommend treating it as one, the unit survived with no ill
effects.

I accidentally dropped my Motion 1300 onto a concrete floor from about
30 inches up. The only apparent damage was that the metal "Five-way
Directional Control Button" popped off.

I put the button back on and booted the computer. It ran perfectly
and has continued to do so.
