| Re: left hand problems on hp1100 tablet For the most part, the operating system controls the positioning of the scroll bar, Gigi, and there's nothing we can do (until the Longhorn OS) to move the scroll. Bill Gates of Microsoft is a lefty, too, and believe me, if it were possible it would be done. You can do some things within newer programs like OneNote and GoBinder to move toolbars, etc., but most programs remain locked in their position and inflexible. I have some suggestions for moving things like the Taskbar on my web site. I'm a righty, but have a lefty daughter, so am well aware of the issues. -- Chris H. | Re: left hand problems on hp1100 tablet Gigi, The scroll bar issue has been a problem since the first round of table software twelve years ago. Give MindManager X5 Pro a try, and you'll see that in addition to being ink enabled, you'll see the task pane and scroll bars are on the left of the screen if you have the OS configured as left-handed. | Re: left hand problems on hp1100 tablet I'm not left-handed, Karsten, but do have a lefty daughter who runs a Tablet PC just fine. As we've previously discussed here, there are some programs (OneNote or GoBinder, for instance) where you can move the toolbars, etc., to different sides or the bottom of the screen. But those are new programs since the Tablets have come out. Microsoft has said the "fix" for right- or left-oriented scroll bars, etc., won't come until the Longhorn operating system, since the method used is so deeply imbedded in the operating system. The current issue is switching things around needs to be done within the programs themselves (as the new ones attest) and without thousands of software companies re-writing their programs, it cannot be accomplished. I've got some hints on my web pages in my signature line, and can tell you I run my Tablets with the Taskbar located on the left side of the screen (right-handed, remember?) so it isn't under my hand a lot. -- Chris H.
