| Toshiba M200 & Pen I'm new to the Tablet PC world, and apparenlty the pen that normally ships with the M200 was lost some where between the Helpdesk at corporate and my home office. I know I can order one from Toshiba, but is it possible to go to an Electronic Store and purchase some sort of Pen for my tablet until the replacement one comes in ? I just wasn't sure what he relationsip between the Pen and the Tablet is. Do they require specific Pens to the brand/model of tablet your using? etc. Thanks, Alamo |

| Re: Toshiba M200 & Pen The Toshiba M200 uses what I would call a "normal" Tablet PC pen - one which doesn't require a battery, and may be interchanged with other Tablets. But first, a little secret: Turn your Tablet off, unplug the power adapter, and then turn the M200 over. Open the battery compartment and remove the battery. There is a "spare" hidden under the battery. 8-) Personally, I prefer one of the Penabled Cross Executive Pen from Cross: http://www.cross.com/catalog/pendeta...+Executive+Pen It comes in two models, one of which has a cap. Wacom, the makers of the Penabled drivers most Tablet PCs use, also has pens: http://www.wacom.com/tabletpc/accessories.cfm And while you're at the Wacom site, make sure to download the 4.82.9a driver (new on December 29) for your system. -- Chris H. It looks like there are a couple of clips on the side adjacent to the battery as well as stenciled image of a pen on the base plate beneath the battery, but no pen. |

| Re: Toshiba M200 & Pen You're not seeing what appears to be a little gray bar at the side closest to your volume control button? That is a small replacement pen. If it isn't there, I'd contact Toshiba support and tell them. -- Chris H. | Re: Toshiba M200 & Pen I talked to a Toshiba sales guy about this yesterday, you have to order that "Spare". Apparenlty it's not standard, or maybe CDW purchses these without them. Either way, it's a no-go. I have the same thing Neal has which is a slot for one. I went ahead and ordered one from them to put in there. Does anyone have any suggestions about were to pick up a sylis in Austin Tx ? I've tried all the various Best Buys/CompUSA, Office Depot etc and no one carrys them. | Re: Toshiba M200 & Pen 8-) Interesting. Mine came with it. Never used it, because I prefer the Cross pen, so I've really got two spares - the original in the slot and the smaller one in the battery area. -- Chris H. It's actually referenced in my owner's manual as a "standard" item. Might have changed policy or something since I got mine. -- John |
