TC1100 & SP2

When attempting SP2 upgrade I receive the error "A components file does not
match the verification information present in the component manifest" ...
Sounds like a politician.

I reformated the drive, used the HP install cds, then went to the HP site to
update all drivers. Same issue again.

Any ideas? Oh, and Merry Christmas

Re: TC1100 & SP2

You might make sure your anti-virus software is not running. Even remove it
from the Startup folder or uninstall it prior to updating. I would believe
components may mean some hardware devices, so you might try disabling any
external devices you may have added and even perhaps disabling Bluetooth, if
it is installed, before installing. Make sure you've got nothing running in
the background, like any special software the HP OEM install may have.

Re: TC1100 & SP2

Merry CHristmas :)

The media is from the windows update site. I turned on automatic updates,
let the tablet discover it needed (or so it thinks) SP2 then I okay the
install after it is downloaded.

Here is what I have tried in several forms:
- Left on and turned off extra devices in bios, then
1) Reformat drive, install OS via HP source cds. Install HP patches, MS
updates, SP2 attempt.
2) Reformat drive, install OS via HP source cds, SP2 attempt.
3) Reformat drive, install OS via HP source cds, SP1a, HP updates, SP2
attempt.

Ran full HP diagnostics including full memory scan, everything at 100%.

Being on a mission here, I'm on my 8th attempt...lol. Bout ready to send
tablet back to HP.

Re: TC1100 & SP2

After the 12 different plans, here is what finally worked.

1) Format drive, install OS source from HP cds.
2) Installed HP patches up to August 2004.
3) Ran MS update, Chose Custom install.
4) Picked all XP SP1 patches and driver updates.
NOTE: At this point I tried auto update to SP2, it failed.
5) D'ld SP2 from MS and installed it manually. It worked.
6) Dl'd HP Fixes and Enchancements for SP2.

All is well and Christmas now is merry.

Thanks for your assistance.

Re: TC1100 & SP2

Sounds like perhaps you've received a corrupted download. You can order the
CD for free (including delivery) here:
