I've got a bit of an odd question...I'm head of imaging for a tech company and had an interesting topic recently come up. We only recently got some tablet PC's, and I've been working with a few of them. We'd like to create a customized image for use with the tablets we have.
One of our users happened to have a Portege 3505 which he didn't need, so we used it as a testbed. While not to our newest spec, it was a tablet that we thought we could adapt for his use in customized tablet PC images.
I've been experimenting with the portege, as we had no recovery cd software for it and it was basically a blank slate for us to work with. However, I have downloaded the appropriate software Windows XP Tablet PC 2005 (My company has a select agreement), installed it to the drive in question and found no joy when it ends up installing Windows XP Pro sp2 and seems to have none of the tablet enabled features.
Would like to know is this due to the OEM requirements? Or is this more related to the fact the hardware maybe too old to take advantage of the newer Tablet PC 2005 features? I'd like to know as this is something we'd REALLY like to get functioning or at least a basic understanding of before years end.
