| Hibernation insufficient resources H2A I'm running TabletPC 2005 on a Toshiba M 200 1.5GHzBanias, 1.5GB RAM, 80 GB hdu. Most of the times Hibernation will not work, resulting in an error "that there are insufficient resources to complete the API" I found a knowledge base article only with a pre-SP2 fix. say hints fixes known? -- Marcus M Sommer |

| Re: Hibernation insufficient resources How much free space to you have on the hard drive, Marcus? Your Hibernation file is going to approximately try writing a 1.5 GB file to the drive, because of the size of the RAM and the size of the Pagefile.sys. -- Chris H. | Re: Hibernation insufficient resources about 15GB free hdu space Is there any other toolthat would give me / us further details what might be the cause, like a program, driver... | Re: Hibernation insufficient resources Haven't had my second cup of coffee yet, but you might want to take a look in Control Panel/Administrator Tools/Event Viewer and tap the Application listing in the left panel. This will reveal events in the right pane. If there are any yellow triangles with exclamation points in them or red circles with white X's, those can be right-clicked with a selection of Properties to reveal a portion of the error message. I would say generally, it can be a driver - perhaps a USB device, which is causing an issue by not releasing. If you've got any devices which are showing errors, I'd go to the Toshiba site and make sure you've got all the latest updates installed. They have quite a collection of post-SP2 items which you should install anyway. -- Chris H. Then re-enable it. This recreates the hiberfile.sys in the root directory. Mine was horked up somehow on a different machine - this cleared out my error when trying to hibernate. May or may not work, but only takes a second and is worth a try. -- John |
