| Re: 2005 input panel terrible Chris, I uninstalled SP2 on my tablet pc. It seems to be working fine, now. The old TIP is back minus the character pad. That's okay because I really didn't like that feature anyway. I am worried about security, though. Any news as to when SP2, HP/Compaq tc1100, and Windows Tablet Edition 2005 will be compatible with each other? Thanks! Debbie "Debbie" wrote: > Thanks, Chris. | Re: 2005 input panel terrible Good to hear of the progress. Windows XP SP2 and the Tablet PC Edition 2005 are compatible with Tablet PCs, Debbie. I would suggest you review the information here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/s...hattoknow.mspx In addition to that information, I would strongly suggest you take a look at www.aumha.org/secure.htm and use your anti-virus program, then some of the free programs mentioned there to check for Trojans, malware, parasites and browser hijackers prior to installing. -- Chris H. | Re: 2005 input panel terrible Chris, thanks for the prompt reply. I will take a look at those two sites. I have downloaded SP2 on other computers and have experienced no problems. I am a new tablet pc user and was surprised at the changes I noticed after downloading SP2 onto my tablet. It was my Novell administrator that suggested I uninstall SP2. He said it was causing all my problems. He said I shouldn't have downloaded it in the first place. This information is contrary to what I have been reading on these forums. However, after visiting the hp forums, many of those users seem to be dissatisfied with SP2, also. They are blaming hp. Hopefully, one of the sites you provided will help me explain to my network administrator why I need to have SP2 on my tablet. Thanks again, Debbie "Chris H." wrote: > Good to hear of the progress. | Re: 2005 input panel terrible Debbie, if you prepare before you install, and follow the suggestions on the URLs I posted, you should have no issues. Not that I'm going to give you a refund or anything, but preparation is 99 percent since we've got so many people with successful upgrades.
