| New tablet pc user questions Got a new Toshiba M205 (thanks Terri!) and have a couple of questions... First, how do I assign something to those buttons? The first button brings the Task Manager, but the other two buttons don't do anything... Any tips? Second, I want an input method that would allow me to write directly to MS Word XP instead of using that little yello input panel. Is there such a thing? I know of ritepen, is this the best option? | Re: New tablet pc user questions Hi, Mauricio, You're welcome! Check the Tablet Buttons options. Right click the Tablet and Pen Settings icon in the systray / Propertes / Tablet Buttons Tab. You can set the buttons there. Also, take the time to run through the Tablet tutorials that are included under Programs / Tablet PC. The more I read them, the more I learn. I hope you're enjoying it and had a good trip home. -- Terri Stratton Editor / Owner http://thetabletpc.net http://themediacenterpc.net Microsoft Windows MVP / Tablet PC "Mauricio Freitas [MVP]" <dr.emailposter@nowhere.invalid> wrote in message news:eJS4cG1zEHA.2676@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... > Got a new Toshiba M205 (thanks Terri!) and have a couple of questions... > > First, how do I assign something to those buttons? | Re: New tablet pc user questions Congrats! Regarding Word, you need to be using Word 2003 to do what you want. And have Handwriting installed from the installation options. Then you can launch the Ink Drawing and Writing Toolbar under View\Toolbars. -- Chris H. | Re: New tablet pc user questions Thanks Terri. Yep, long trip, but no problems this time. BTW, have already visited your site to check the tips there :) Another question then: is just me or the screen looks a little foggy? Installed MS Office 2003 and it works well, overall is a good tablet/laptop for my use. Mother-in-law seems to want one now... It's also handy to have the SD card reader therem for the camera and Pocket PC cards. -- Mauricio Freitas, Microsoft MVP Mobile Devices Bluetooth guides: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=449 Geekzone Software Store: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/store Our RSS feeds give you up to date information on new software as soon as they're available: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=3344 "terri" <support@thetabletpc.net> wrote in message news:eJ0oUN1zEHA.2016@TK2MSFTNGP15.phx.gbl... > Hi, Mauricio, > > You're welcome! | Re: New tablet pc user questions Have you set clear type on it? Don't expect a lot of improvement in portrait, but it should help in landscape? If you decide to get her one, let me know. | Re: New tablet pc user questions Tried with ClearType and without. It's not only the fonts - it's the whole screen that looks like those anti-glare glasses. | Re: New tablet pc user questions Perhaps you want to rid yourself of the overlay... but I'm not doing it. Bert Keely talks about it here: http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.as...ID=16964#16964 A few folks on TabletPC Buzz have done it; some have regrets; some were ecstatic. -- TCPW The Miniature Mage "Mauricio Freitas [MVP]" <dr.emailposter@nowhere.invalid> wrote in message news:%23gfujC3zEHA.1260@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... > Tried with ClearType and without.
