| Photoshop and pressure sensitivity I just purchased an Acer TravelMate C300 (C303XMi), and I'm wondering if there is any way to get Photoshop to recognize that the tablet input supplies pressure information? Thanks, Chris |

I have the original Acer C300 and every time I install that darn Wacom driver all kinds of weird things start happening. The screen starts rotating on it's own and it doesn't come out of standby right. It just shuts down instead. I just gave up on the darn thing. Your mileage may vary with a newer Acer C303 but just watch out for those problems. |

| Re: Photoshop and pressure sensitivity Try, after installing everything, just removing the Add or Remove Programs listing for Wacom. It leaves the drivers properly installed. -- Chris H. | Re: Photoshop and pressure sensitivity The Wacom drivers support pressure sensitivity. The more limited drivers that ship with some tablets do not. OTOH, some folks have had problems with the Wacom drivers, though I haven't experienced any since I upgraded to this latest set. -- Charlie. terriblue******.com wrote: > "Charlie Russel - MVP" <charlie@mvKILLALLSPAMMERSps.org> wrote in > message news:<OofqflUyEHA.908@TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl>... >> Try the Wacom driver -- I believe it adds 256 levels of pressure >> sensitivity. http://www.wacom.com/tabletpc/driver.cfm > > Does this mean that this driver is supposed to supply pressure > sensitivity to tablets that don't already have pressure sensitivity, > such as a Motion 1400? > > Terri |

If I remove it from the Add/Remove list and it still hoses up everything, it will be very difficult to dig out by hand. What other reverences to this technique have you seen? Do you have a reason why this odd technique should work? And, if it does work, doesn't that mean the driver is buggy? Taking something out of the Add/Remove list should have no effect on the functionality of the application or driver. I guess I could always take an image before trying this but I just don't see that it is worth the trouble any more. I have essentially given up on Wacom ever creating a bug free driver. |

| Re: Photoshop and pressure sensitivity That is a ridiculous accusation, Grant. It has worked on my systems, where I've been testing various scenarios to check if the "software" was interfering with something else. You can expand the download, and just install the Wacom drivers. But that's your choice, since I've only made a recommendation which may have helped you. Please don't think for a moment that I would post something to "sabotage" you, Grant. I posted because I believed it might help in your situation. -- Chris H. Really, though, it does seem a little odd that doing something like removing the item from the Add/Remove list would affect functionality. Any explaination as to why or how? |
