| Averatec http://www.averatec.com/ <-- does anyone have any experience or own this and tell me what they think of it---from pricing on Tablets - it can't be beaten! |

| Re: Averatec You may want to compare what it offers with others in the same class. Tablet PC MVP Terri Stratton has a great comparison chart on her web site: http://thetabletpc.net . -- Chris H. | Re: Averatec I have looked at others, but obviously the price of Averatec's model attracted me - if anyone has used one of these or have one - please reply. Again, I am only interested in experience with this one. My previous experience was with Toshiba Portege 3500 - good. Thx again "Chris H." <winxpnews********.com> wrote in message news:evzs8IIwEHA.3376@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... > You may want to compare what it offers with others in the same class. > Tablet PC MVP Terri Stratton has a great comparison chart on her web site: > http://thetabletpc.net . > -- > Chris H. > Microsoft Windows MVP/Tablet PC > Tablet Creations - http://nicecreations.us/ > Associate Expert > Expert Zone - www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone > > > "Joseph" <js@mail.com> wrote in message > news:%23yZ0LEIwEHA.2876@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... >> http://www.averatec.com/ <-- does anyone have any experience or own this >> and tell me what they think of it---from pricing on Tablets - it can't be >> beaten! >> > > |

| Re: Averatec I have one and I love it. Can't beat the price. But if you read the forums in tablepcbuzz.com and tabletquestions.com there seems to be a few unhappy people. I would suggest (if possible) get one try it for yourself and see if it something you like. Shankar. | RE: Averatec I just bought one, my first TabletPC. The price per features was pretty compelling. I admit though that I bought this to learn (play?) with TabletPC, so I am not relying on it as my main work laptop or my main personal laptop, so my expectations are not high to begin with and I was willing to compromise (no Intel, kinda heavy, no DVD writer, no IEEE 1394, yada yada). So far, it's pretty reliable, although it seems to get fairly hot . The other big thing -- and this may be a generic TPC thing; I'm a newbie -- is that I've found I have to really tune the brightness and gamma settings of the display, probably because I'm not used to a monitor that doesn't remain a fixed position all the time., relative to my line of sight. Thankfully, this comes with a display gamma tweak and easy brightness control (software), so I didn't have to copy over and install my old friend the Adobe Gamma control utility. I guess it all comes down to what ur looking for? Primary mobile machine, primary machine period, secondary machine or secondary mobile. - Tim "Joseph" wrote: > http://www.averatec.com/ <-- does anyone have any experience or own this and > tell me what they think of it---from pricing on Tablets - it can't be > beaten! > > > |
