| Ink and converting to Text When Ink was first being touted I watched many demos where someone wrote in ink and they highlighted it then converted it to text. So I finally talked the president of the company into buying one as he's not a typer and sold him on this idea. When we finally got it, it does not perform as the demo showed; write a sentence, right click, convert to text, spell check, bold, italicize.... etc. This demo I saw was using Word on a TabletPC. -- Kamaluokeakua |

| Re: Ink and converting to Text Okay, if he is in Word 2003 and using the Tablet Input Panel for the handwriting, the Options should be set for Undock of the TIP (so he will have the TIP Access icon showing), and then also set the TIP Option to not automatically insert text. That way, he can write many sentences with the TIP automatically expanding lines, see the preview of the identified words and make any possible corrections prior to tapping the Insert button. Now, if he's using the Handwriting feature in Word 2003, he needs to use the Ink Drawing and Writing Toolbar (under View/Toolbars . . .). The converting of handwriting to text needs to have the handwriting recognition installed. Take a look in Word's Help for "Convert writing . . ." Details of the steps are in the Help result. Personally, I prefer using the Tablet PC TIP instead of using the multi-step Office version. -- Chris H.
