| ACER Travelmate C100 - startup error I get wbutton.sys error when booting into XP TE...It seems it has something to do with switching from wireless to a wired connection because when I press on the enable wireless button, it does nothing...it used to disable the wireless & switch over to a wired connection...I have looked on Google, Yahoo, and Acer's websites for this error and cannot find anything...I have downloaded an Acer driver from their website called c100tabuttonxp, but it doesn't fix this issue...I have a screenshot of this error if you need it...Just reply to this & leave me an email address that I send the error message too...Your help with this is very appreciative!!! cheneybros LR, AR |

| Re: ACER Travelmate C100 - startup error I would contact Acer support. They have a good online section. I believe you need their assistance to make sure you've got the probably drivers installed on the system. Make sure to tell them whether you have updated to Windows XP SP2 and Tablet PC Edition 2005, also. -- Chris H. | Man, you know I had the same error with the exact same symptoms. I think you're right, it controls the wireless on off. But, I'm stuck in exactly the opposite mode, wireless with no wired switch. I wonder why with this machine it's either/or wireless and wired and both can't be on at the same time. It would have been nice to be able to use it as a wireless ad hoc connection for other wireless devices or to be able to daisy chain a wired device to it that has no wireless card to still be able to use the internet. But, that's another matter. Is there any resolution to this wbutton problem? Is there a driver download or whatnot? I haven't found anything in Acer support for it. |
