| TIP disappears unexpectedly I'm using SP2's TIP in undocked mode. Sometimes, I will be writing, and and I get about halway to 3/4 across the writing space, and the TIP disappears and inserts the text even before I'm done and when i'm in the middle of words. The TIP usually adds another line of writing space as long as there is room available, but it doesn't even do that. This has been happening a lot lately. Sometimes, If I restart the computer, it helps and other times it doesn't. Any suggestions as to how to fix this or what's wrong? Thanks RV |

If I pause in writing and move the pen away from the input panel, it goes missing. If I am just a bit more careful about keeping the pen over the input panel and don't lift it too far away from the screen (reach an area where the pen is not "talking" to the digitizer), the TIP will hang around until I'm done with it. -- Sharon F MS-MVP ~ Windows XP Shell/User |

| Re: TIP disappears unexpectedly Sharon, I really don't think that's the problem in my case, becuase it still happens even when I'm writing in cursive. My pen doesn't even have to lose contact with the screen. As soon as I get to a certain point on the TIP it just disappers. | Re: TIP disappears unexpectedly Is this always on the same spot on the screen? If that's not the case, have you tried changing the nib on the pen itself? -- Chris H. Perhaps bumping up the delay will work better for you? Personally, I turn auto insert off and use the Insert button. -- Sharon F MS-MVP Windows Shell/User |
