| Acer C111TCi + SP2 = No Internet Explorer After installing SP2 onto the Acer, I am now having problems with Internet Explorer. If I double click on IE then IE doesn't seem to run but you can see the "iexplorer" process in the processes view. If I double click in IE again then another "iexplorer" process is added but again the IE window does not appear. All other applications can access the Internet...even Windows Explorer! I have uninstalled SP2 and everything goes back to normal. But as soon as I installed SP2 again then the same problem comes back again. Is anyone else having a similar problem or knows what I can do to fix the problem? Thanks in advance. -- Kulvinder Singh Matharu Website : www.metalvortex.com Contact : www.metalvortex.com/form/form.htm "It ain't Coca Cola, it's rice" - The Clash |

| Re: Acer C111TCi + SP2 = No Internet Explorer Although this newsgroup doesn't provide direct support for Internet Explorer, you might try going into Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer, click on Application in the left pane to reveal events in the right pane. In there, look for either yellow triangles with black exclamation points or red circles with white X's in them. Those indicate errors, and can be right-clicked with Properties then selected to see a portion of the error message. The information should give an indication of what is causing the issue. You can also try to do a Reinstall or Repair of Internet Explorer by following the information in this Microsoft Knowledge Base Article: http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;q318378 If that fails to correct the situation, I'd suggest you post whatever you may find there, give the exact steps which result in the problem to one of the Internet Explorer newsgroups. -- Chris H. Nope. I'll try and stop all my programs to see if any of them are causing a problem. | Re: Acer C111TCi + SP2 = No Internet Explorer My direct experience with this symptom is related to another process keeping the IE interface from coming up. Start killing non-critical processes one at a time. It was an anti-virus app or ad blocking app that was the culprit. (Can't remember which.) -jason |
