Hi there,

Whenever I start my Tablet PC with Windows XP professional, the error
message appears "Python.exe -- Applicatin Error The application failed to
initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click OK to terminate the application."

Then during the use of the computer, sometimes the same error will pop up
for applications "ucgather.exe" and "upgrade.exe."

For clarification, I don't have EasyCD installed. The error does not seem
to seriously undermine the computer. It is just VERY annoying. I have tried
registery cleaners and they do not help.

Please help!

From a quick search on Google, are you running a program named "Python" or
are you on a Lenovo Tablet PC? The ucgather.exe seems to be commonly
related to IBM-type updates for the system. I'd check with your
manufacturer's support section to see what they have to say. It all sounds
related to a manufacturer's updating mechanism, and not actually a Tablet PC
functionality.

Hi Chris,

Thank you so much for your reply. I updated the Lenovo Thinkpad Software
and the initialization error for "python" and "ucgather" disappeared. Good
news! the bad news is that the same error for "upgrade.exe" is still there.

Any advice?

I'd check with the support section for that program, Gary. I'm not familiar
with it, but if it is throwing errors, perhaps the programmers need to be
aware of it.
