Screen Protectors

What kind? Or do you use them? I have found that the rubbery washable ones
cause problems with handwriting recognition. . . they must not be made to
write on, you think? But I have a horrible time getting the "sticky" ones on
My screen without getting some speck of something underneath.. . . Yon would
think t was applying the protector during a hurricane... Maybe I need to do
it With ceiling fans and air conditioner off. I the sticky side is like a
dust magnet.

I'm on I think my fifth tablet since their inception, and while I use the
protectors on my windows mobile phones and such, I've never bothered with one
on my tablet. only one time did I get something hard enough with an edge to
accidentally cause damage to the screen, and that would've gone through the
protector anyway.

In all the years, I've never had any damage happen to mine, never any marks
and such that were permanent. I've used tablets that others had protectors
on, and I just didn't like the feel.

Ultimately I think it depends on your habits, and how much unintentional
abuse your machine is subject to in your daily use...

No, I di not use any anymore.
I still remember the great fun we had, when a student of mine came with
"AfterDark" (someway picked from a computer at IBM's ceter in Boca Raton
<gbg>) and we spent evenings playing with it <g>.

For many long years I have not used any Scrennsaver.
Just a black screen after the timeout is pretty well enough.

Rainald

The OP was talking about screen protectors for LCD displays, not
screensavers. Screen protectors prevent damage to the surface of the screen
from outside sources like fingers, styluses, grit, etc.

Re: Screen Protectors

I've also never used a screen protector for a Tablet and never had any
problems. I do, however, have an excellent way of keeping my Tablet from
being exposed to sharp objects by carrying it in a jacket pocket:
http://www.segal.org/tablet/photo/. But even for my iPod touch I don't
protect the screen, and although I carry it in a pants pocket have some
scratches on the metal back of the device I have none on the glass.

Are some brands of Tablets more susceptible to scratching than others? I've
had no problems with a Motion LS800 and a Motion M1300.
