Is there another program for handwriting?

Is there any other handwriting programs other than the one that comes with
Vista, something other than tabtip or ?? whatever it is called. My FlyBook
recognizes my handwriting fairly well but the handwriting looks like I have
a shaky hand.

This product finally made handwriting usable on
my U810.

You can write anywhere on the screen - no need for
"input box" that stomps all over the application you're
using.

thanks .. actually, I think I have that program somewhere .. I need to
look. I think I bought it with my
HTC Shift .. but not because the handwriting wasn't any good on the shift
... I don't know why I bought it.
I think I may be senile !! my FlyBook is the first tablet I have owned that
the handwriting didn't flow well.

Too many things I don't like about ritepen. But mostly editing what you
wrote has to be done One letter at a time. Not even a keyboard to backspace.
and also you need to wait for rite pen to insert your text. Can't just click
"insert." Probably the best writing is with the tablet pad. Maybe it is just
going take Some getting used to.

Sorry about the different or names. Thing is my "pretend name." My
alter-ego.

Yeah, all this stuff is configurable. The defaults weren't what I liked
either. Too long on the insert delay - I tightened that up almost immediately.

You can use gestures to backspace & edit - don't need a soft keyboard.
This, in fact, is one of the main reasons I needed RitePen, the U810
doesn't have an active digitizer and therefore doesn't do gestures natively.

I had the U810 .. by the way .. if you find that it takes its sweet time
when writing on the
built in pad .. Somewhere in settings. I think it is Control Panel - System
Devices - HID etc .. The one that has a tab for Power Settings .. click or
unclick .. Allow computer to turn it off to save power. You will find that
the touch screen is then ALWAYS READY !! There is never a delay.

Any way .. back to ritepen .. Maybe I have an old program .. but I don't
find any place for tweaks.

Diane

Right-click the pen icon in the Taksbar (make sure it's the RitePen
one - the built-in TIP one) - pick Settings.

Mine (3.0.17) has 6 tabs worth of settings there.
