Windows XP Tablet - Pro Edition with IIS

I have searched the groups and I have seen people that asking and
talking about running IIS on Tablet PC. From a few posts I see that some
people say that IIS does run on it and that they do ASP.NET Development.
My question is does MS XP Tablet PC Edition ship in Pro/Home Versions
like Regular XP does and thus do I need to specify that I want the Pro
edition when purchasing a tablet?
I am looking to use the device as a mobile development tool, especially
for being able to show case work

No, John, the Tablet OS is a superset of XP Pro, so there is no Home version
available. All Tablet PCs running Windows XP Tablet PC Edition will give
you what you need.

Re: Windows XP Tablet - Pro Edition with IIS

I run IIS, PHP, MySQL on my tablet and have also run MS SQL and the Whidbey
Beta in a Virtal PC on a tablet in addition to MySQL. No problems with any
of them. Running Visual Studio.NET, Web Matrix or Visual Web Developer 2005
Beta also runs well on a Tablet.

Re: Windows XP Tablet - Pro Edition with IIS

Does this mean there is only 1 released version of Win XP Tablet? The
interface for the XP Tablet seems a bit like Home XP to me. Is the SP2
version (Win XP Tablet 2005) basically the same interface?

Re: Windows XP Tablet - Pro Edition with IIS

The Tablet PCs all run Windows XP Pro as the operating system, with the
Service Pack 2 added, users also receive a free upgrade to the Tablet PC
Edition 2005 - the superset which runs on top of XP Pro. There is no
"Tablet PC" operating system, just as the Media Center Edition systems which
run on top of Windows XP Pro are running their own MCE superset.
