| Synchronization offline files tab missing I have a NEC Vesa litepad In My Computer, when I go to Tools>Folder options, the Offline Files Tab is missing, and I can find nothing doing a google search, and the help in Windows XP tells me nothing except how to use it. -thanks-Drew |

| Re: Synchronization offline files tab missing Do you have several users or accounts on your machine, Drew, and using Fast User Switching? If so, Offline Files are not available with FUS enabled. -- Chris H. | Re: Synchronization offline files tab missing I have a number of users, and not sure if Fast User Switching is being used (many hands on this machine, so it could have been enabled without my knowing it). How do you turn off FUS? Thanks for the quick response-Drew Chris H. wrote: > Do you have several users or accounts on your machine, Drew, and using Fast > User Switching? | Re: Synchronization offline files tab missing You can turn FUS off or on in Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services. Look in the list in the right pane. Fast User Switching under "name" can be right-clicked, then select Stop. You may need to restart the system after making the change. If there are multiple users and accounts, you might want to check with other users before shutting it down. Perhaps there is a reason for running the machine with FUS configured? -- Chris H. | Re: Synchronization offline files tab missing Good advice, but in this case, I think it was just playing around (this was the first tablet in the office). After everyone has played with it, it will be used 90% of the time by one employee. | Re: Synchronization offline files tab missing OK, I checked the tablet, and FUS was not running. I tried starting it, then stopping it, then reboot, and it did not make any difference. Any other ideas? Thanks-Drew >-----Original Message----- >Good advice, but in this case, I think it was just playing around (this >was the first tablet in the office). | Re: Synchronization offline files tab missing Have you followed the instructions in Help and Support, Drew? Just open H&S and type "offline files" in the Search area. Without knowing specifically what you've attempted, it might be best for you to run through that information. -- Chris H. | Re: Synchronization offline files tab missing That's the problem-Help and Support provide no info for this situation of the actual Offline files Tab missing. It goes through the steps of setting up off-line files. The Tab itself is simply not there. I would hate to have to reinstall the OS to have to get this one little tab back. Thanks for all your help on this-Drew Chris H. wrote: > Have you followed the instructions in Help and Support, Drew? Just open H&S > and type "offline files" in the Search area. | Re: Synchronization offline files tab missing Drew, I'm still trying to track this down for you. Do you have Terminal Services enabled on your machine? That would cause Offline Files not to show. -- Chris H. | Re: Synchronization offline files tab missing Good question-I will check-how would I unenable Terminal Services? | Re: Synchronization offline files tab missing it's been a long day; I don't think "unenable" is a word-how about disable? :-) -Drew Drew H. wrote: > Good question-I will check-how would I unenable Terminal Services? | Re: Synchronization offline files tab missing Go into Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Service and right-click the listing for Terminal Services, then select Stop - if it is enabled. Unenabled works for me, although I believe disable is better. 8-) Remember, you may have to restart your system after making the change. -- Chris H. | Re: Synchronization offline files tab missing OK, when in-Terminal Services were set to manual, but running. I was not able to stop it, so I set it to disable and restarted the machine. No luck in getting the Offline Files Tab back up. I even checked the service again (it was now off and listed as disabled) and then restarted the machine one more time. The tab still does not show. I also tried logging in as someone else, and the tab is still not there-Drew >-----Original Message----- >Go into Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Service and right-click the >listing for Terminal Services, then select Stop - if it is enabled. >Unenabled works for me, although I believe disable is better. 8-) > >Remember, you may have to restart your system after making the change. >-- >Chris H. >Microsoft Windows MVP/Tablet PC >Tablet Creations - http://nicecreations.us/ >Associate Expert >Expert Zone - www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone > > >"Drew H." <drewNO@SPAMhalevy.org> wrote in message >news:%235iV%23MFkEHA.3428@TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl. .. >> Good question-I will check-how would I unenable Terminal Services?
