Being this is my first tablet with a digitizer-I was wondering if there are
better Pens and how often and why do you change the tip?

>> better Pens <<

There are some for the wacom and many for touch screen including a
number of multipoint pens which include a touch screen stylus.

not often if you have a light touch and keep the tip absolutely clean...
I have several styli which I have used for years but I often see users
who think they have to press hard who will not only need a stylus, but a
new screen cover in short order ;-/

Every couple of years, I'll get a piece of grit on the tip which I
normally feel immediately the first time I touch the screen. You can
remove and clean, but the scratch it leaves will be there forever.

the reason I asked is because my HP laptop pen came with replacement tips
and
some sort of tool to replace them. I have a feeling I will lose them before
I need
to replace them ..

understandable... if you keep a light touch, wouldn't worry about it.

Can't remember... will your device respond to a finger or inactive (pda)
stylus?

Along those same lines, i've been using tablets since their inception, and
every tablet I've had (five so far) I never changed the tips on. And since I
use my computer for both work and personal, I'm on them almost constantly all
the working day and a good portion of the night. So I got a ton of use and
never needed to swap out a tip yet.

yes. In fact I was going to ask a question about that. I can use both finger
or digitizer pen but mostly when writing an email or whatever, I tend to put
my hand on the screen. So prefer to use the digitizer pen for writing. I was
trying just this morning to think of a way to to put an icon on the task bar
that would quickly turn the finger touch option on and off. I haven't had
enough Coffee to do that this morning. Maybe it isn't even possible.

I had the Fujitsu P1620 and returned it - Previously I had the Fujitsu
P151O. FANTASTIC little tablet. With the P1620 they removed the digitizer
from the screen and made it a separate part:. . . they also added to the
Screen Something that ignores your palm it you rest it on the screen when
you write. . That was great but you could no longer just touch the Screen
with your finger. you had to rap it pretty hard with your nail -Double
clicking was horrible - I Could open and close and door maybe 10 out of 25
times.no matter how I changed the double tap speed. Fujitsu wouldn't say
there was a problem with the new Screens... they just said tap the screen
harder. I had to tap so hard with my stylus to click or double click I
thought I would break the screen.

I am still waiting for my refund. but that Computer the P1600 series is
garbage as far as I am concerned.
