| some questions about tip I have recently upgraded my Fujistsu Stylistics 5010 (MUI spanish version) to the windows tablet pc edition 2005 with SP2. I have noticed that the tablet input panel keyboard now has changed its colors to white over blue, and also, adding more keys, the size of them is smaller. Having some vision problems, I prefer the old black over white keyboard color, but I haven't found any way to change it. Is it not possible yet to change the color and the keys size of the keyboard? Also I have a problem with undock the tip: it is only possible to dock it at the top or at the bottom of the screen, but not to move freely as before it was. Trying the undock option at tools icon, the tip dissapears and, after reopened, it still is docked at the top or at the bottom (where it was choose before trying the undock item). Yours sincerely, Jaume |

| Re: some questions about tip Jaume, you may try some of the options available in Control Panel/Accessibility Options/Display tab/High Contrast area/Settings button. There are a lot of settings available for High Contrast. As for the Dock and Undock problem you're seeing, Undock only works if you set the Option on the Tablet Input Panel to Undock and do not open the TIP from the Taskbar. You will see a "floating" icon - TIP Access - on screen when the cursor is in a text input area which you need to tap with your pen to open the TIP. The TIP will then be in Undock position on the screen, and if you see the little ::: bumps in the lower-right corner, you can drag the TIP anywhere on your screen. Opening the TIP from the Taskbar icon reverts the TIP back to Dock (top or bottom). -- Chris H. | Re: some questions about tip Hi Chris H, Thanks you very much for your response to my questions. I still haven't be able to change the colors (white over blue) of the tip keyboard. In regards of the moving the floating tip, that I wasn't able to do, I have discovered, after seeing the tutorial, that it is possible if you place the cursor at the right wall of the window, not at the top of the window as it is the usual way in all the other windows applications and jobs I work with (some change in the windows standars here?). | Re: some questions about tip Jaume, try right-clicking a blank spot on the desktop, then selecting Properties. Go to the Appearance tab and look for the Windows and buttons setting. I believe if you'll select Windows Classic style from the drop-down menu, this may help you get the keyboard changed. Sorry I didn't remember this earlier. -- Chris H. I think this observation may explain the problem I'm seeing in the "input panel problems" thread, described also at http://www.segal.org/java/tablet_events/. Fiddling with the pen over the right part of the TextField seems to fix the problem. I wonder if I experienced this problem because I am left-handed and didn't tend to cross the right edge of the TextField? |

| Re: some questions about tip I modified the applet at http://www.segal.org/java/tablet_events/ to make the TextField very long and I can't reproduce the right-edge effect now. Also, changing the Handedness setting in Tablet and Pen Settings does not appear to abolish the problem. | Re: some questions about tip Mickey, it just might be the positioning, although I'm no way a programmer. However, being right-handed (we have one of three daughters who is left-handed, too) I always tap the beginning of any text-specific input area. That would mean (and I've tried it many times) that I'm actually entering the field(s) on the lower-left edge. -- Chris H.
