| Re: TravelMate C302XMi Experiences Hi, I use one, it's not bad, enough fast for me. Some exceptations 1) Long boot if the wireless is on, (Use hibernation with no problem) 2) Max resolution is too low for the big screen 3) Installation from ACER not really good for me (langage and keyborad problem betwwen franch and swiss french), I don't receive a CD for do a clean install. The battery is alive during 3 to 4 hours, depend from the utilisation. I have upgrade the memory to 1.2GB with no problem for Use it with VPC. |

| Re: TravelMate C302XMi Experiences We have three of the machines at our office and we all love them. We use them as our desktop replacements. A little heavy, but that's OK for us because we wanted the big screens and the built-in DVD/CD burner etc. Only complaint we have is with the Acer docking station. It has a very short connecting cable (about 6 inches), which prevents you from turning the tablet around etc. Paulo - can you provide more details on the SP2 problem? I've upgraded to SP2 without any apparent problem, except that on bootup, it sometimes takes a few minutes for my desktop icons to appear. It shows my desktop background picture and the blue screen, but not the desktop icons until about 2 minutes. Is this what you are refering to, and if so, is this documented somewhere re new driver etc? Thanks. | Re: TravelMate C302XMi Experiences Hi Gerry, Unfortunately my problem was different. My problem was related whit the smart card reader. There is a FAQ on the Acer site about it. Here is a transcription: ----- System hangs after O2Micro update Problem: After updating my O2Micro smart card reader driver with the update function of Microsoft my system will always hang when i use the Windows Media player to see video content. Solution: The problem was caused by the Windows update function in combination with the O2Micro driver installation. To solve this problem go back to the original version that you can find on your Acer System CD that came with the notebook. The driver can be found in \drivers\WinXP\Smartcard\. Or it can be installed from the menu of the System CD that appear when the CD is inserted. ----- After the SP 2, I reinstall the driver from the support page of Acer, my C300 work perfectly. When I run the Windows Update there is a driver update for it but I advise You to ignore the update.
