Toshiba M-200/205

I have a Toshiba 205 and I have never been able to get the Blue Tooth
up and running. A Bluetooth device is listed in the device manager and
I have Toshiba Bluetooth manager. Everytime I go to start the bluetooth
device I get a message that Bluetooth is not ready. How do I tell is i
have a bluetooth card installed?

Thanks

Tom

Are you running the Bluetooth Stack for Windows XP (v3.00.00A) from
November, 2003, or something different?

Re: Toshiba M-200/205

When you go into Control Panel/Bluetooth Local COM and click on the icon,
are you getting a new screen which says, "Could not open the Bluetooth ACPI
device drive (tosrfec.sys). Try again?"

From the Toshiba web site support bulletins, document ID 98070524:
=====
This is an indication that there is not a bluetooth card installed in the
computer, or the bluetooth card is defective.

Verify you have a bluetooth card installed on your computer by looking at
your purchase order or sales receipt.

If you determine that you have a bluetooth card installed in your computer,
the card may be defective and you will have to take the computer to an
Authorized Service Provider for repair.

To locate a Toshiba Authorized Service Provider go to
http://pcsupport.toshiba.com and click on the link for service centers. Or
call 800-457-7777 to locate an ASP.

COMMENTS:
Bluetooth Manager is a component of the Bluetooth Stack and may be installed
on computers that have the option for a bluetooth card whether there is a
Bluetooth card installed or not.

Here's a Microsoft Knowledge Base article on the Bluetooth issue, with a
suggested resolution:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=winxp
Hopefully, it'll help you.

Re: Toshiba M-200/205

I've got the M205-S810 too, and I see the same problem. If you look
carefully that configuration doesn't come with Bluetooth support, even
though you see it in the OS. I even checked with Toshiba about having it
added, which they said I couldn't. Only option is a PCMCIA card or an SDI/O
card.

Re: Toshiba M-200/205

On a lot of the Tablets, the machines are "Bluetooth ready" although the
systems need to have a Bluetooth card added. Windows XP itself comes with
Bluetooth support, whether or not a computer has the hardware involved.
