| HP TC1100 I have a HP TC1100 and I am having a problem with the numlock key. It appears that when I bootup or log out of XP, I have to turn off the numlock key function in order to log in. Is there a way to disable this? |

| Re: HP TC1100 Hi, Russell, Have you changed the bios to start with the number lock on? If so, you can change it to "Off" in the bios. If there's a reason that you want the number lock on by default at boot, then I think that you'd need to be sure your logon and your password don't use any of the characters that are used by numbers on the keyboard. -- Terri Stratton Editor / Owner http://thetabletpc.net Microsoft Windows MVP / Tablet PC "Russell" <russell_munisteri@inds.com> wrote in message news:etuwkHsiEHA.2660@TK2MSFTNGP15.phx.gbl... >I have a HP TC1100 and I am having a problem with the numlock key. | Re: HP TC1100 First question: Do you have an external keyboard attached to the system when booting? Does it happen if you have only the standard HP keyboard attached? To get into the bios you touch the button on the jog dial just as it is booting and a menu should pop up. One of the options will be to get into the bios. I don't recall that there *is* and option in there to control this. | Re: HP TC1100 Russel, There is a registry entry you can change that should resolve this, external keyboard or not, at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com Specifically - go here: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_n.htm scroll to the bottom of the page. | Re: HP TC1100 Hi - may I ask you for a very little favor? I can't change the screen orientation anymore after some updates (was not able to find the exact problem), so I'm fixed to landscape. Could you please have a look what screen is installed on your device? Is it "plug and play"-screen? Could you also look at screen-properties for the driver files that are used? THANK YOU! I updated my TC 1100 with the latest NVIDIA drivers without success. I remember there was a resolution 1024x768 AND 768x1024 before (now there's only 1024x768) and whenever I click "change screen orientation", I get an error that this setting is not available and I should look for display properties.. Regards Peter |

| Re: HP TC1100 Peter are you using Nvidia's drivers from their web site, or the OEM drivers? | Re: HP TC1100 Good morning, Chris - thanks again for your support (you're a very active one..). Of course I tried both versions of HP's video drivers -> no success :-(. I think my problem is related to the display, since I remember the selection of 1024x768 _and_ 768x1024 before (now only 1024x768). Thanks + regards, G.
