| Synchronise desktop with tablet Hi, I'd like to synchronise the "My Documents" folder and also my Outlook email between my desktop and tablet pc. I already have the desktop syncing with Pocket PC 2003. Before I go play with ActiveSync - does anyone know if I can _ALSO_ synchronise my tablet using bluetooth or wireless over network (preferred)? Thanks in advance! LF -- Liddle Feesh *fap fap fap fap* <>< <>< <>< <>< ><> <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< |

Previously discussed many times. Just search on the word 'sync' in this newsgroup. |

Tablets are just like regular laptops and PCs. They are not Pocket PCs and so ActiveSync is useless. You have to use the same sync/comms/networking as you would for any other pair of Windows (XP) machines. |

It's a great program: inexpensive, powerful, and reliable. It works over any type of network connection. -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see. So if you alter items in outlook on both machines before sync'ing them, you risk only retaining the information from the most recently used machine. I have lost numerous emails and appointments that I have forgot to sync before working on my other machines. dg |

| Re: Synchronise desktop with tablet You might want to take a look at http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/. Originally built for cross-platform file synchronization, but should work on same platforms as well. Affords some manual configuration however (see http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/u....html#tutorial). The only thing I wish it had was the ability to pop up a dialog with a list of conflicts for you to quickly resolve. Instead, you have to re-run in preview mode, then find the conflicts, then resolve them. It doesn't take long but it can be a pain. |
