Keyboard problem

I have a Toshiba Tecra M4 Tablet PC whose keyboard iss not behaving.

THe keyboard acts like Numlock is on except that the keys that are not
affected by Numlock don't do anything. Turning off Numlock allowas the
Numlock affected keys to operate, but does not help the ones not affected by
Numlock.

If I plug in a USB keyboard, it operates correctly, but the Numlock
indicator is backwards.

The keyboard oiperates correctly to get into CMOS and move around.

The problem exists in Safe Mode

I have checked the keys referred to in Article 170903, and the settings are
as specified.

What would make the keyboard act up in this manner, and short of a cmplete
reinstallation what can I do about it?

RE: Keyboard problem

You have a bad keyboard. You need a new one. I know this because I had the
same trouble, differt keys. I got a new one from ebay for $19.99. The strip
that is above the keyboard will pop off and 2 screws hold it in. Good luck.

Re: Keyboard problem

How are you toggling the numlock?

The laptop responds to both the <Fn> numlock toggle and an external
keyboard's numlock... for example, using a full external keyboard with
numberpad can often lead to confusion when it's used later as a laptop.
