'insert ink' button in outlook 2003 not available

The 'insert ink' button on my toolbar and 'insert' menu in outlook 2003 is
grey over and unavailable when composing email messages. I am using the HTML
format for emails. It used to be an available option but I haven't used it in
a while so it's possible that I've changed some settings since my last use
but I would love to know how to get that option back so I can use ink in
email messages! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You have to select MS Word as your email editor and make sure that your
replies are in HTML format. Tools/Options/ Mail Format, select Use MS Word
for email editor.

Thanks for your reply. MS Word is in fact selected as my email editor and I
am using HTML format. Any other suggestions?
