| M200 and bluetooth Hi, I have bluetooth on my new swanky kick arse M200, and I brought a bluetooth adapter for my PC. The PC and the Laptop can see each other okay, but when I try to setup up "File Transfer" my PC says that the laptop does not provide that service?? I've tried looking everywhere on the laptop for where that could be configured, but no joy.. For those in the know, should it be possible to setup file transfers using bluetooth on the M200.... Cheers BTW the M200 rocks... If I'd change anything I'd say the touch pad could be dumped (after two days I'm yet to use anything but the pen), the sound card sucks (bet hey I have an mp3 player, so there) and it would be nice if there was a nice built in webcam (like those little viaos)..... Oh, the external USB Toshiba DVD/CDRW feels like its made out of edible parts.... But 2 days of tableting and still happy.. although productivity is way way down..... might have to leave it at home so I stop playing with it and get some work done.... (not going to happen!).. |

| Re: M200 and bluetooth I tried sharing some files but no joy.. (both simple and not simple sharing) Thanks for the suggestion though... My desktop just says that the M200 doesn't offer any services.. In the installation of the bluetooth software on the desktop it offers me a number of options of what services the desktop will offer (network, ftp, file transfer, serial port etc......) I'ved looked everywhere for a similiar setup page on the M200 but no luck.. I'm going to get a wireless router anyway, so life will go on.... But I hope I don't have similiar problems if I get other blue tooth stuff to go with the tablet ... Still, if anyone has already been through this... don't be shy.. | Re: M200 and bluetooth I found the following post at: http://www.tabletpcbuzz.com/forum/to...tooth%2Cmodule ************* I have the BT module in my M200 and have a few questions, complaints, and concerns. I've tried several BT devices with limited success. Logitech BT keyboard and mouse seem to work with M200 module. Logitech BT headset does not. Apparently M200 needs to support 'BT Audio Gateway' which it doesn't seem to have. Delorme Earthmate GPS BT PowerPack connects, but the program won't talk to the GPS. It'll work connected by USB, so it doesn't seem to be a hardware problem. And the GPS will talk via BT to a different PC, and a PDA. So I get the impression it's the BT implementation on the M200 to blame. There is a directory for BT on the M200 that has some kind of Microsoft BT monitor. I tried installing that and it messed up everything (no Fn F8, no BT antenna icon) and seemingly no way to connect to devices. I was unable to reinstall the Toshiba BT stack without uninstalling the MS Monitor. What did Toshiba put it there for if it won't work properly? [snipped bottom] *************** Now that last paragraph has me worried. When got my M200 there was a file on the desktop called Bluetooth readme... So I read it, and it explained how to install the bluetooth monitor I think this guy is talking about (BtMonInst)... I too now do not have a working Fn F8 (nothing seems to happen). I did get the blue tooth icon though on the task menu. If installing that does screw the blue tooth, why on earth was it on the desktop called readme!!! What did they expect was going to happen.. Have I done the wrong thing in installing that... If so how do I undo what I have done... |

| Re: M200 and bluetooth SP2 for XP includes the Tablet PC Edition 2005. Windows2000 has its own service packs and doesn't necessarily follow the same timeline as other operating systems. Each OS will have a service pack issued when necessary. If you have Windows Update set to automatically receive updates and patches, you'll get SP2 notification as soon as its available. The advantage is that will only install the parts that you need. -- Terri Stratton Editor / Owner http://thetabletpc.net Microsoft Windows MVP / Tablet PC "less sexy" <less@sexy.com> wrote in message news:TeydnYwcrtp0uoXcRVn-sA@comcast.com... > > "Chris H." <winxpnews********.com> wrote in message > news:e9XC7ZnfEHA.2352@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... >> Are you running Windows XP SP2 with the Tablet PC Edition 2005? | Re: M200 and bluetooth Windows XP Service Pack 2, which includes Tablet PC Edition 2005, is available as a full download from www.microsoft.com/downloads or if you have an MSDN subscription.
