Wireless Networking Issues

Hey goys, I wrote the below post in the wireless networking discussions
group but did not get an adequate reply. I was wondering if someone here
could help me out.

Re: Wireless Networking Issues

RV, if you enable Wireless Zero Configuration in Control
Panel/Administrative Tools/Services, then go into Network Connections,
right-click and Properties on your LAN icon, you can go to the Wireless
Networks tab. There at the top, you'll find Use Windows to configure my
wireless network settings, and put a check mark in the box. After that,
it'll automatically select your fastest connection. It works that way on my
M200, without touching the Intel PRO settings at all. I'm running an a/b/g
router, and it always selects the 802.11g connection.

Re: Wireless Networking Issues

RV, I just have to back up Chris on this one. On all of my laptops so far, if I
have a wireless nic capable of either b/g, they will just automatically use the
correct throughput speed. I have never had a problem. While using my laptop to
sort "wardrive" at conferences and in hotels to see what networks are there, I
often use the speed that my nic connects with to tell me whether or not the locale
has b/g networks. It just works.
