I see a trend here:

My computer's fan stopped working:
Root: It's MS!

My Wife left me:

My dog ran away:

MS Wall SP2 will fix that. It requires no scraping or sanding.

See, it's always MS' fault. :-)

Re: The ultimate "recovery" cd insult delivered by Sony

Provide a reason other than MS policies that no OEM provides a bootable full
XP Tablet PC Edition install CD! That CD is invaluable to the experienced
in debugging various kinds of issues. Removing that tool from MS's cadre of
experts and professionals that don't have MSDN HURTS the product and causes
fixes and analysis of problems to be much less robust and timely. MS is
shooting itself in the foot.

The Toshiba 3500 then M200 problem that is in recent threads has been
outstanding for over a year. Toshiba has NOT addressed it. I would have
given it some effort IF I had a clean install CD. The lack of that clean
install CD causes a shrug and walk away and that rubs off on the product
overall.

I guess you've failed to see the posts relating even installing the XP Pro
operating system clean, followed by the Tablet PC Edition superset, using an
MSDN subscription, doesn't resolve the issue. I would suggest you avail
yourself of the information here:

If you don't know what is relative, you have just confirmed you have no
substantive facts on which you base your continual allegations. Thank you.

Re: The ultimate "recovery" cd insult delivered by Sony

From what I've read, Microsoft, although really poor-thinking in making
its decision to ban the distribution of Windows CDs with new PCs, does
permit manufacturers to distribute recovery CDs with their products.
It's obviously less nice than having the original Windows CD, but the
least Sony could do is distribute its recovery CDs. I just got a new
VAIO desktop, and the CD creation wizard absolutely did not work for
me, refusing to create a DVD and yet not giving any kind of error
message, and getting halfway through making the CDs to do the same
thing again. I spent well over an hour talking to tech support, which
sent me back and forth between people, first from a call center in
Pakistan[?] back to here, and requiring me to turn off all my services,
startup items, etc. to "troubleshoot". From what I've read, a lot of
people have had this problem, so I'd guess this troubleshooting and
lack of acknowledgement that their included recovery software is awful
and buggy is simply a means to piss off some people and make them give
up. When I finally got through it all, yesterday morning, they sent
off some recovery DVDs, which arrived today. So it seems they
definitely have the infrastructure for sending complimentary recovery
CDs, they're just very good at not giving them out.
