| M200 booting from a CD Odd, I just figured out (that at least on my machine) the USB 2.0 DVD/CD+RW drive that comes from Toshiba must be plugged into the right hand USB slot for it to be used as a bootable device. Anyone have any idea why? -- Gary A. Bushey SPS MVP bushey@mindspring.com |

Anyone have any idea why? Unsure, but consistent with my Motion M1300, which complains if a USB2 device is connected to its left hand USB slot. |

I must've just gotten it by dumb luck when I first got my M200 and rebuilt it. :) And my M200 has another "feature" regarding USB that my 3500 doesn't - it can't have both my pocket pc (HP 5555) and a cd drive in the USB at the same time. If I try to have both in at once, even when on AC, I lose the USB altogether until the tablet reboots. Irritating since it worked fine on the 3500. :( John |

Anyone have any idea why? Sorry, dumb question -- which slot is the "right hand"? (I.e., which way are you looking at the computer for it to be on the "right hand"?) Is it the slot next to the power plug or the other one? Thanks. -- William M. Miller, The MathWorks, Inc. wmm@world.std.com |

| Re: M200 booting from a CD You might check using MyComputer=>Properties=>Hardware=>DeviceManager=>U sbControllers=>USBRoot and examine how much power the devices are drawing.... | Re: M200 booting from a CD That would probably be good information. It is the port that is right next to the power cord. Looking from the back it is the left hand port, looking over the top (like I was) it is the right hand one -- Gary A. Bushey SPS MVP bushey@mindspring.com "William M.
