WinXP Tablet Edition SP2 RC2 and Motion

Has anyone installed this on a Motion M1300? Any problems?

Several times, David. And yes, minor things during the beta, but otherwise
no problems. It'll install as an upgrade over the existing XP SP1.

I have had no problems. the new TIP is much improved. The only problem
is that QuickView Plus does not work any more. Anyone know why?

Have you tried uninstalling it and reinstalling again? I ask because
there's a slightly different structure of the Registry created upon the RC2
install, and it may have broken what was there.

Tried that. Still doesn't work.

Re: WinXP Tablet Edition SP2 RC2 and Motion

The Quick View web site suggests they have an issue with one of the updates
to DirectX 9, which may or may not be related. Take a look at their
information here:
http://www.avantstar.com/stellent/in...VP_SupportInfo
In case you didn't see it, they also have a 7.0 patch available here:

The update is for version 7. Version 8.0 solved the problem with with
DirectX 9, so my guess is that new changes to DirectX in XP SP2 RC2 are
the culprit and Avantstar says that they have no idea because XP SP2 has
not been released yet.

Drat. Well, usually when Microsoft does a change to an operating system
with a service pack, some companies will hold back until they have a chance
to see the final code. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

derek.nittle is on a distinguished road
If you rename the tcserver.exe module and reboot, you can use quickview, but not the built in tablet features then :(

Hope that helps someone dig deeper than I could on the issue.
