| Pen Eraser Model: Toshiba Portege m700 OS: Win XP Tablet Edition 2005 SP2 I haven't found any program that will allow me to use my pen's eraser. The square block will display when I use the eraser side of the pen, but the functionality doesn't erase. Even when I click on the eraser icon (in any program), I still have to use the pen tip to erase. Please let me know if there is some way to make the pen eraser work. Thanks, KR |

| Re: Pen Eraser His symptoms, along with his other post about gestures not working, are telling me he has a tablet with a passive digitizer. Eraser & gestures apparently only work with active digitizers, as I finally found out on my U810. | Re: Pen Eraser Ah, yes. I believe you're correct. Unfortunately, there are manufacturers around selling "tablet pcs" and not informing the buyers the lack of functions - including one major manufacturer which is selling a laptop with a swivel screen, but no digitizer at all, and people wonder what's wrong. While I can understand wanting the ability to use the stylus exactly the same as a pencil with eraser where muscle memory has been learned since kindergarten, it would seem that after relearning to tap the icon would actually be a little faster that physically rotating the stylus. On all the Pocket PC's I have had, you can erase the last character by just drawing a right to left line in Letter Recognizer. All PPC's have passive digitizers. Why can't passive tablets do the same? > > |

| Re: Pen Eraser Thanks for the additional replies and I apologize for being delayed in my response...I traveled all day. To answer Beverly's question, I'll reference V Green's last post. I was an avid PDA user and would like the same simple functionality with the tablet interface. I'm used to a simple backstroke to erase a single letter or group of letters and then can easily fill in or correct mistakes. Also, I find flipping the pen over to use the eraser efficient. It's just my preference I also what I expected. This is my first tablet. I've contacted Wacom to see if they have a driver I can use with Tablet 2005. They have one for Vista, but I don't want to make that change. Thanks again. I'll keep checking the post in case more info comes in. | RE: Pen Eraser Besides the eraser, the Toshiba pen driver doesn't work with Photosop in all its features (specially pression sensibility). What I did was download the Wacom driver for Tablet PC. The eraser run and all the features with Photoshop. The problem is that the sistem is more unestable and sometimes you have to reiniciate it.
