Reply to email in ink ?

Shouldn't I be able to reply to my emails in ink? I've
got word set up properly, as everything goes alright when
I send "new" mail (it will allow ink)but the moment I
reply it doesn't work. What's going on?

Thanks

Lonnie

Do you have Word set up to be your email editor for all mail formats? Tools
> options > Mail Format?

.... and which versions of Word/Outlook?

Also, check that you're using HTML format in the options.

Re: Reply to email in ink ?

There is a checkmark in "Use Microsoft Word to edit e-
mail messages". HTML is chosen as the "Compose in this
message format" Outlook version is 2002, and Word
version is 2002. What's up?? Is there anything I can
do? As far as I can see, the settings are correct, and
the only thing that might enter into it is that maybe I
need later versions of the programs. Any
suggestions/comments?

Thanks for your present replies and future ones.

Re: Reply to email in ink ?

With the Office XP (2002 version), you need to be running the Microsoft
Office XP Pack for Tablet PC, available for download here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
The 2002 version of Office family products does not do Ink natively like
Office 2003.

Re: Reply to email in ink ?

That program has already been installed Chris, thanks for
the info though. As I mentioned in original post, I'm
already able to use ink, but only with new mail, for some
reason the program wont allow ink when I reply to email.

Thanks for your input. Please, any other ideas?

Lonnie

UPDATE

Man, I feel like an idiot. When I hit the reply button,
then put my Cursor in the message area, there is one
thing I had forgotten about :) and that is that when you
put your Cursor in the paragraph area, it defaults to the
kind of text already there, And of Course in this case it
was plain text and I forgot to make sure that the drop
down box had HTML in it. I hope that my writing this out
helps someone to not Make the same mistake, otherwise
I've felt like an idiot for nothing :) hehe

Update, huh? We all do things like that, but I prefer to call them
"discoveries." 8-)

Re: Reply to email in ink ?

If the person replies in Plain Text format, you will automatically reply in
Plain Text which doesn't allow ink. You will have to switch to HTML mode if
that is the case.
