| HP TC1100 Memory Upgrade I'm thinking about purchasing the HP TC100. Can someone help me with a few questions. The model comes with 512Mb and I'd like to add another 1Gb. Can I buy a 1Gb module and fit it myself to give 1.5Gb ? Someone told me that it has two upgrade slots and only one of these accessible. Can I fit 1Gb extra if the other one has 512Mb already. Also, Can I install any standard version of Office 2003 onto the tablet - or is there a tablet version I have to use. Finally, where's the cheapest place to buy one from in the UK ! Thanks for any help jay |

| Re: HP TC1100 Memory Upgrade Jay, you would need to ask HP on the issue, or hopefully someone with one of the machines will post back to you. I honestly don't know if the RAM has a "fixed" module to start with and the user can only add one additional one or not. Office 2003 is fine on Tablets, which run Windows XP Pro as the operating system. Unlike Office XP (the 2002 version) it isn't necessary to install the add-on pack to get Ink functionality. It is natively supported in Office 2003. As for a sales point in the UK, you might check http://froogle.google.com/ . -- Chris H. | Re: HP TC1100 Memory Upgrade Goto HP site and you can download their manual and look at it. Should be pretty standard stuff... On a side note, HP is recalling a lot of laptop system because of Memory problem. It's in the news, like news.com... You might want to check if this Tablet is affected with the recall. I personally have gone thru 6 HP/Compaq laptops in a 8 months period (2 died, 3 had problems on hanging, crashing, 1 will skip keys when I type on the keyboard). My experience with Compaq's support (last year) was really bad. Granted, the problem was only with their laptops, not with their tablet. I switched to Toshiba (own 1 tablet and a 17" widescreen laptop) and am extremely happy with them.
